Avoid productivity mistakes you're making in the first 10 mins of your day

1. Drinking coffee or tea as soon as you wake up.
Instead of this, drink water as much as possible.
I drink 1 liter as soon as I wake up.
Pro-Tip: Drink coffee between
10:00AM TO Noon OR 3:00PM to 4:00PM
2. Starting thinking about ideas in which you have already done some work.
- Empty your brain before starting on your new tasks.
Pro-Tip: Got down all ideas in a notebook & what progress you already made as part of this task so that you don't drop any ideas.
3. Checking work emails first thing
The most unproductive thing which I did a lot of years.
This habit can make your day or break as well.
this cost me huge sometimes in my career.
Pro-Tip: Keep close your mailbox for 30min. Switch off notifications while you focusing on work.
4. Going straight into meetings
Very bad idea to start your day with any meeting.
Filter meetings wheater it's urgent or important or can postpone to later in a day.
Only if it's really an emergency then you can do it.
5. Sitting down in your chair
Before COVID we usually travel by car/bus/bike to reach the office & the average commute time to reach is like 30 to 60mins.
So Go for a short walk or use a standing desk (if you have one) for the first 10-15mins of the day.
Same can be done now in WFH
6. Working away from natural light
Pro-Tip: If your desk is near a window, open the blinds, or curtains each morning to let the light in.
if you can't move your work table, you can think about investing in a SAD lamp.
7. Multi-Tasking
Pro-Tip: Stop doing multitasking as soon as you wake up.
- Plan your day ahead for max productivity by allocating 30-40mins blocks for a single task, with 20min blocks in between to work on miscellaneous tasks.
